My Story

5 years ago I was diagnosed Bipolar. Now I'm running 1250 miles from Rome To Home to share my story and keep men alive by talking.

Why? Because 12 guys under the age of 45 take their own life every single day in the UK and I want to play my part in doing something about it.

My objectives are simple:

1) To share my story – from my full blown manic episode in Italy in 2012 and the crippling depression that followed, to what it’s taken to get back to the positive place you find me in today. By doing so I hope to play my part in normalising the conversation surrounding mental health issues, to give hope to others suffering out there, to encourage others (particularly guys) to speak up when they’re struggling the most, and also to thank all the incredible people who have supported my journey over the past 5 years.

2) To raise £12,000 and a ton of awareness for CALM (the Campaign Against Living Miserably) – one of the UK’s most innovative charities dedicated to keeping men alive by talking!

3) To take on an amazing adventure challenge – to push my boundaries, to test my limits, to self-medicate (channeling my expendable energy in to this positive external physical challenge) and to know that I’m giving this life everything I’ve got.

The adventure starts Friday 25th August 2017 at The Colosseum, finishing 65 days later on Saturday 28th October 2017 at The London Eye.

With your generous donations, spreading the word and by sharing this page, we really will save lives. Suicide is the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK with 780 guys taking their own life during the 65 day's I'll be running! A crazy statistic which we can absolutely change by getting guys talking when they're struggling the most!

My fundraising target of £12,000 will pay for CALM's helpline to stay open for 12 days, during which they will receive an average of 200 calls a night from guy's considering taking their own lives.

On behalf of myself, CALM and those you're supporting, thank you for anything you can give. This is a team effort and your donations will mean much more to me and the team at CALM than you'll ever realise.
